SG Analytics conducted a survey of over 1,500 viewers of digital content across the US to understand viewing habits and subscriber preferences.
SGA’s research reveals that of the paid viewers (66%) the top three reasons for choosing a platform are its original productions, affordable subscription cost, and regular addition of new movies to the library.
Key insights from this survey:
80% of the respondents have subscribed to Netflix, followed by Amazon Prime Video and Hulu
80% of respondents with children under 18 mentioned comedy as their top genre
50% millennials prefer international or foreign language content and have mentioned this as one of their top preferred categories
Almost 50% spend 1-3 hours daily watching content online
